International Cooperation Programs

Tierra Institute International cooperation programs  are conducted in the host country/region in collaboration  with institutions, non-profit organizations, civil associations, and communities of the host country/region. The objective of these cooperative programs is to contribute to sustainable development of host communities with local participation. Individuals from any country are invited to participate in these programs as volunteers.

  • Train the trainer courses and workshops for Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy technicians.
  • Installation of solar photovoltaic, thermal and wind energy equipment  in rural communities with participation and training of its members through any of the following  programs:
  1. Solar House
  2. Solar School
  3. Solar Health Center
  4. Solar Work Center
  • Environmental education, water, sanitation and hygiene training workshops.
  • Arts and  crafts workshops,  eco-cultural and community tourism programs.

Organization

  • Course and workshop development.
  • Design, training and installation of  solar photovoltaic, solar thermal and wind energy systems.
  • Search for financial support of  solar and wind energy collaborative projects.
  • Fund raising of  equipment and materials  for solar and wind energy projects.
  • Implementation and evaluation of solar and wind energy projects.
  • Travel arrangements for volunteers participating in  host country/region/community projects
